Riverview Priddis Show

Just when you thought I’d run the gambit of art shows, here comes another one. Just in time for Mother’s Day. Come on out to Priddis Greens Golf Club to see the newest Riverview Art show. Not only do you get to see a great selection of artwork, but there is opportunity to also purchase some ‘unframed pieces’ and even artist cards (of course all mine are hand painted)

The Priddis Golf Club has just recently renovated their facility, so come and take a look, and even stay for brunch and enjoy the view.

The show runs this weekend…

Friday May 4th – 5pm to 9pm

Saturday May 5th 10am to 9pm

Sunday May 6th 10am to 2pm

I’ll be on location on Saturday from 10am until about 2 or so…it all depends on who comes and sees me!! I hope you can make it out. This might make it to the art show this weekend…I’m not sure because I haven’t chosen all the pieces that will attend…

Yep, because I’m not busy enough, I’m getting ready for not one, but TWO shows this weekend. The first show is with the Calgary Community Painters Society at Triwood Community Hall. (2244 Chicoutimi Dr. N.W.)

The next day is the Calyx Distinctive Arts show. This is a big ‘un! I’ve been working very hard getting paintings completed and framed ready to go. So far I have 65 ready to go…but I’m still framing, and painting. I guess it’s a good thing that I paint in acrylic! I will try to update you with the final number going in the show…. Spending Time on the Site

After so many months of me running here and running there I actually took a bit of time to update my site! I’ve added ALL my work to the galleries so you can see everything. Better yet I’ve put everything in by year, so you can see the changes in my work as each year progresses.

If you click on the Gallery button it will take you to the current work of 2012, or if you want to see other years you can choose from the pop down menu. You will be able to move between each of the years easily with the added buttons I’ve put on the Gallery pages.

Have fun looking around, and of course your comments and suggestions are always helpful. Also, check the post below this one to see where my current show is. ENJOY!!

First Canadian Show

Eleven Biko’s can be found in the current show Downtown Calgary at First Canadian Place. The show is running from April 2nd to April 5th only. (350 – 7th Ave. S.W.) One of the Highlights of this show is one of my favorites….

Hey, I just created these great skins for I-phones. These are my first two prototypes. Let me know your thoughts. Can I market these ….more to come…it’s just too much fun!!

Nothing like watching movies and painting….I made three tonight and perfected the fit.

New Year Painting

In keeping with my desire to get things cleaned up and completed before the New Year, I was able to actually finish a painting I’ve been working on for the last couple of years. I am so very excited with this new piece, I’m not even sure I’m ready to sell it. January 1st was spent in the studio finishing it up (oh, and starting a few others). I see some real influences from a couple of my favorite artists in this one…. Still contemplating a name. Let me know if you have any inspirations for it.

I keep a close record on all the paintings I create, and just for the record, in 2011 I completed 89 paintings. Do you think I can surpass this? This creation is number one…what a great start!

To get ready for the Arthouse Show “100 things for about $100″ I created a new series of paintings. From the show there were lots of discussions and excitement from my work. Each painting is suspended between two plates of glass, so they take on what ever colour your walls are.

They float and are a bit transparent in some areas. Here are some samples.

My second showing at the Calyx show. New artists each day on Saturday and Sunday (October 22nd & 23rd), but if you want to see a Biko, then Sunday is your Day. I’ve been off at my yearly painting retreat where I was able to complete many pieces that have been waiting. Lots to see at this Calyx show, so I hope to see you.
