Help me Choose

I have an opportunity to submit four paintings to the Triangle Gallery. They are hosting the 2008 Studio Art Sale & Bohemian Extravaganza. All artwork will be juried (so not all my submissions may make it).

The show runs from Thursday November 6th to Saturday November 8th, 2008.

Could you please help me out with my selections because I am not sure which to pick. Out of the seven pictures below I need to narrow it down to four paintings and I have to take the pieces in, all nicely framed, on Wed. Oct 29th. This is your chance to participate in getting my name out there!! Bill has created a easy to use poll to the right of the page

===========================================================>>>>

Just take a look, choose your four favourites from the list to the right and click on the squares beside them, then click vote at the bottom of the poll, it’s that easy! Once you have voted you can compare how everyone else voted too. The poll closes at noon Tuesday October 28th, so don’t wait. I will post the final results in a new post.

Thank you… Poll closed

Here is my favorites in order:

Formatting the Fall – there is a lot of dynamic motion with this and I love the overlay on the black frame, very cool
Elements of Surprise – there are many little vignettes that are interesting in this piece, many little discoveries
Aligning Impatience – very nice balance of composition with the extension of the black lines connecting the entire piece
Sunny Disposition – the brightness and composition works very well on this piece

  2. Michelle says:

I agree with Tammy, in the same order too.

    Sunny disposition
    Aligning Impatience
    Advance of Color
    Formatting the Fall

These are my favorites. I love the boldness of the color. Reminds me of the spectacular colors we are seeing on the West Coast this fall.

I see that I have not voted along the same lines as others. Being a poor choice as an art critic, my choices are more gut feelings rather than an educated appreciation. What I also did was to look them over again and again and in doing so found at least one painting that I really did’nt like in the same class as those I did choose. My top choice was easily Sunny Disposition. This painting would work well in an office environment where a person was trying to create an aura of positive feelings. Bright, lively, all come to mind. I found some of the other painitngs to be more intense and brooding.

    Hello,

My favorite is Advance of Colour, it makes my eyes wonder around the colors trying to find something. real cool. 2nd, is Firestorm, i can see the flames in my mind through the picture. and 3rd is Element of surprise, it looks like some kind of Japanese art work. last is the Aligning Impatience, the strong lines are attractive.
